HAUNTED HOUSE

 

Q: This song is about a man who boasted that he could stay all night in a haunted house, and what happened during the night. I remember as a child in the late '50s or '60s. I've always thought that it was called "The Haint". Refrain: Say yep I'll be there when the morning come, I'll be right here an' I aint gonna run .... I think the last verse is: From out of space there came a man, ate the hot grease from the frying pan. Drank the hot coffee from out the spout. Said "Don't be here when the morning come!" That's all I can remember, it's been "haunting" me for YEARS!
