TIPS

It can be frustrating to try and figure out the lyrics to a song.  We've all been bugged watching a commercial that shows over and over and you can't quite figure out what they're singing.

Well - here's a tip that might help with that frustration.

Closed Caption.

Unless you've got a really old tv, your set should have Closed Caption, or CC, capabilities built in.

So, if you know a commercial is always shown during a particular show or on a certain channel,
Just put on your closed caption option and you should be able to see some of the lyrics right up
on your screen - provided there isn't so much talking in the commercial to keep them from listing
some of the lyrics.

This also comes in handy for tv show themes, or movie music.  Even while watching a dvd.
Most dvds have subtitle options, but not all include the music lyrics played during scenes.

In fact, sometimes, the closed captioning will include the name of the song and artist for you.

So - get out those remotes and keep pen and paper handy!

Also, try the website for that channel or product.  Often, they have the info listed.  And if not, you
can usually email them and ask.

Look on www.youtube.com.  Many times the commercial is on YouTube and someone has already mentioned the song and artist in the comments section below the clip.

If your song is from a movie, check out www.imdb.com.  They list the soundtrack for most movies there.
Just type in the name of the movie, then in the left hand menu, click on the Soundtrack link.
